It comes after officers were called to a collision between a green motorbike and a white van on nearby Sewall Highway at around 4.15pm.

Officers attended and arrested two teenagers, both 16, found hiding nearby. The green bike, which is believed to have been stolen last month in Warwickshire, was seized and will be forensically examined.

Minutes earlier, the bike had been in Farren Road, when an attempt was made to attack a motorbike rider and attempts were also made to rob a second rider of his motorbike.

Police have been talking to witnesses and trawling CCTV from the area to establish exactly what has happened.

But officers have yet to identify one of the victims and are appealing for the man, who was wearing a blue t-shirt and blue shorts, to come forward.

They would also like anyone who has any dashcam footage from around the time of the collision in Sewall Highway to get in contact.

A 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged with attempted robbery and attempted assault. He was due to appear before Coventry Magistrates Court today (Wednesday 17 Aug)

A second 16-year-old arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery remains on police bail in hospital where he is being treated for leg injuries which are not believed to be life-changing.
