Police investigate suspected arson at Coventry home

Anyone with information on the fire is being asked to come forward

An investigation's underway into a suspected arson attack on a home in Coventry, following a fire in the early hours of this morning.

Emergency services were called at around 12:30am to a property on Grindle Road, Longford.

Police say no one was in the building at the time of the fire, and no one has been injured.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "We are investigating a suspected arson at a home in Grindle Road, Coventry at about 12.30am this morning (Wednesday 22 Dec) after being alerted by fire service colleagues.

"Officers attended and found that thankfully no one was in the home at the time and no one was reported injured to us.

"But damage was caused to the property and our enquiries are ongoing to establish exactly what happened.
