Stratford-upon-Avon road closed as men attempt to steal copper and lead

A main road through Stratford town centre was shut after attempts were made to steal lead and copper piping from shop roofs.

A number of men were seen in Bridge Street, during the early hours of this morning.

A 31-year-old man from Tipton was arrested on suspicion of burglary.

He was later searched in custody and was arrested on suspicion of possessing class A and possession of class B/C drugs.

Two other men - one aged 34 from Birmingham and one aged 45 from Dudley - were arrested on suspicion of burglary .

All three remain in police custody at this time.
