Stolen goods worth thousands of pounds have been recovered from a shop in Coventry after a successful operation.

Officers from the Foleshill Neighbourhood Team, working with colleagues from Trading Standards, paid a visit to a shop in Stoney Stanton Road after receiving intelligence suggesting stolen items were being stored and sold there.

On 13 May, the team carried out a warrant at the shop, finding a large amount of stolen coffee, deodorant, medicine, chocolate and washing powder, with the total amount thought to be between £4,000 and £5,000.

The items are all thought to have been stolen from a number of shops in the city before being sold to the shop at a later date.

A 50-year-old man will be voluntarily interviewed in due course while police enquiries continue.
