Police search for attacker after teen stabbed in Coventry
Officers think the offender fled the scene in a car with cloned plates
Police are appealing for information after a 17-year-old boy was stabbed in Coventry.
He was attacked in Middle Ride, Willenhall, at around 7.45pm yesterday. His injuries are not thought to be serious.
Officers say say they've reviewed CCTV, and understand the attacker fled in a silver Golf which they believe had other occupants and was on cloned plates.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "He is understood to be black but we know there were witnesses to the stabbing - which happened near a pub - and they may be able to help our enquiries.
"We'd urge them to come forward as soon as possible as any information could be vital. This can be done directly to us, or via the Crimestoppers charity anonymously.
"Due to concerns over further violence we implemented section 60 powers in the surrounding area until the early hours of this morning.
"These powers mean we can stop and search people we suspect may be involved in violence involving weapons, without the need to have reasonable grounds.
"We found no-one else with weapons but we'll continue to have regular patrols in the area over the coming days.
"We don't use s60 powers lightly but will continue to monitor and assess the situation. Our priority is to protect the public.
"Anyone with information is asked to contact us via Live Chat on our website and quote 20/426234/22. Alternatively ring the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111."
