A serial shoplifter who targeted stores in Coventry city centre has been jailed.

Officers were alerted to items being stolen from a shop in Fairfax Street on Friday afternoon (1 November).

Police identified Chloe Neville as the prime suspect and tracked her movements on CCTV. It led them to arrest the 39-year-old a short while later in White Street.

Following quick time enquiries officers were able to link her to a number of other shop thefts in the city centre throughout September and October.

Neville, of no fixed address, admitted five counts of theft and also an offence of assault.

She was jailed for three months and two weeks at Coventry Magistrates Court on Saturday (2 November).
