Police make murder arrest after man dies in Coventry

There were reports of disorder on Milverton Road yesterday afternoon

A man's been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 74 year-old man from Coventry died.

Police were called to Milverton Road at around 5pm yesterday afternoon (Thursday 26th November) following reports of disorder.

The victim had been seriously assaulted. He was taken to hospital, but died last night.

The 31-year-old man is currently in police custody.

Enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances that led to the man’s death.

Detective Inspector Wes Martin from the Force CID team, said: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family who are being supported by specialist officers at this difficult time.

“I would urge anyone who was in the Milverton Road area at around 4.45pm yesterday afternoon who might have seen something to get in touch."
