Police investigating the murder of a 5-year-old boy in Coventry say they're not looking for anyone else in connection with his death.

It's as they continue to question a woman this morning - whose known to the family - after the child was found with multiple serious injuries on Tuesday evening.

Investigators remain at the scene on Poplar Road in Earlsdon whose local community has now faced two major incidents in as many weeks.

It's after an armed standoff sealed off part of the area for five days earlier this month.

Superintendent Ronan Tyrer, from Coventry Police, said: “Our investigation continues into the desperately sad death of a young boy.

“Our specialist officers are supporting his parents and we cannot comprehend the grief they must feel. Our thoughts are with them.

“A woman remains in custody. She is known to the family, but is not the boy’s mother, so we would urge people to avoid speculation on social media or sharing posts which could ultimately cause distress."
