Police close problem properties in Coventry
It comes after concerns about drugs and anti-social behaviour
Police have secured closure orders on several properties in Coventry, after anti-social behaviour concerns.
Officers from the Gangs team carried out warrants at a number of city addresses, in response to drug dealing and ASB.
Now orders have been secured, making it an offence for anyone not specifically named in the order to enter.
This is to keep the occupants and neighbouring properties safe.
The first property, in Jardine Crescent, was believed to have been occupied by drug dealers, with a warrant there being carried out earlier this month.
This was followed by closure orders in Henton Court, Faulkner House and E Thomas King House, all of which had been reported following concerns of anti-social behaviour and cuckooing.
This is where vulnerable people are exploited by criminals, usually drug dealers, to let them use their homes for criminal activity.
A further order was secured against a property in Stevenson Road, after repeated complaints of loud music and anti-social behaviour.
Officers have worked with Orbit Housing and Citizen Housing to secure the orders and will be working with them to make the addresses safer places to live.
Anyone who's concerned about criminal activity, anti-social behaviour and drug dealing where they live is urged to contact us via Live Chat or 101.
