West Midlands Police (WMP) has seized a stolen bike, as they continue ongoing work to tackle dangerous and anti-social riding in Coventry.

The force is working with partners to carry out targeted activity to catch and deter off-road bike users in the city.

As part of Operation Prosperity, WMP undertook pre-planned action in Wood End, Stoke and Foleshill last Friday (8 November).

Local teams, supported by the drone unit, were in place and after a pursuit they managed to recover a stolen bike.

Separately, officers on the operation stopped and arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of drug offences. He's since been bailed pending further enquiries.

The force says they’ll continue to carry out these highly visible operations to not only catch those involved but also deter others.

West Midlands Police is also asking residents to send in video footage of off-road bikes in public spaces via their new online portal.

If you spot off-road bikers in Coventry you can also call police on 101.
