Police appeal after 11 year old boy approached in Warwick

Warwickshire Police is appealing for witnesses or information following an incident in Warwick on Friday (2 July).

At around 3.45pm, it’s reported an 11-year-old boy was walking between the garages on St Michael’s Road. As the child walked past a silver car, the driver wound down the window and spoke to him.

The child ran off and no physical contact was made.

The incident was reported to police yesterday (Tuesday 6 July).

The vehicle is believed to be a silver car, possibly a Volkswagen, and the driver is described as an Asian man in his thirties, wearing a cap, sunglasses, and a black-short sleeved t-shirt.

Investigating officer, Det Sgt Pete Sherwood from Leamington CID, said: “We are currently working to establish the circumstances of this incident, and will be conducting additional patrols in the area over the coming days.

“If anyone witnessed the incident or a man or vehicle acting suspiciously in the area, or was driving on this road at this time and has any dashcam footage, please call Warwickshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 407 of 6 July 2021.”
