Plans to build huge 20 story tower of flats in Coventry
It will be a mixture of old and new, combining parts of Coventry's 700-year-old city wall.
A development company has released plans to build 309 flats in city centre.
Two towers, one 20 stories tall and another 14 stories tall, will be built side by side at Paradise Street, southeast of the city's ring road.
The £80 million project is waiting for planning approval by the city council.
More than half of the apartments will one bed flats, where the rest will have two to three bedrooms.
309 new flats will be built, as well as a retail space, pocket park and 55 car parking spaces.
Rainer Developments, who are behind the plans, want to make 25% of flats affordable housing.
Planning Director Gavin Gallagher hopes it will become a "gateway to the city centre".
He said: "We believe the scheme will bring energy and vitality to the site, help the economy of the city centre and drive footfall for businesses there."
The scheme will also include part of Coventry's protected monument- its 700-year-old city wall.
Gallagher said the wall is "in a very poor state of repair" and the project will "allow the public to appreciate this important heritage asset".
The Council are calling for members of the public to have their say until November 17.
A decision whether the scheme will go ahead will be made in early 2023.
