Officers remain at scene following fatal collision on M40 in Warwickshire

National Highways Traffic Officers are also on scene assisting with traffic management

A man has died after a crash between a van and a lorry on the motorway in Warwickshire this morning (12 September).

At 5.39am, emergency services were called to a report of a collision between junction 12 and junction 13 on the M40 northbound.

West Midlands Ambulance Service pronounced the man deceased at the scene.

The northbound stretch of the motorway remains shut and Warwickshire Police officers remain at the site.

Detective Sergeant Stephen Barr said: "Our thoughts and sympathies are with the man's friends and loved ones at this very difficult time."
