Man in hospital with life-threatening injuries after being hit by train in Coventry

A man's in hospital with "life threatening" injuries after being hit by a train in Coventry.

It happened at around 9:30 this morning near to Warwick Road.

Two ambulances were at the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance spokesperson said: “We were called at 9.23am to an incident on the tracks nearby to Warwick Road in Coventry.

"Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Critical Care Car attended the scene.

"Upon arrival we found a man. He was assessed and had sustained potentially life threatening injuries.

"He received advanced trauma care at the scene before being conveyed to University Hospital Coventry by land ambulance with continued treatment en route.”

The line between Coventry and Birmingham International has re-opened.
