Man in 70s hospitalised after being attacked by hammer in Coventry burglary

Police say the aggravated burglary took place last night.

A man in his 70s has sustained serious injuries after being attacked by a hammer in an aggravated burglary in Coventry.

It happened at 10.15pm last night when two men forced their way into a house in Flude Road, through the front door.

One of the two occupants inside, a 71-year-old man, sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing hospital treatment.

The suspects were described as two males, approximately 5’8 tall, wearing dark clothing and masks. It is believed they made off on foot.
