Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses following a serious assault in Lea Marston yesterday (Sunday, 12 May 2024).

The incident happened shortly before 8.45am at the car boot sale, on Haunch Lane, where it is reported a 42-year-old man was punched in the head.

The victim was taken to hospital, where he remains in a serious condition - where it is believed he has suffered a bleed to the brain.

A 38-year-old, from West Bromwich, has been arrested on suspicion of GBH assault.

Detective Superintendent Michael Brannen said: “There’s never a good reason to assault someone.

“Often only one punch placed in anger can lead to life-changing injuries for the recipient, and you will have to live with that fact – along with the legal consequences for serious assault – for the rest of your life.”
