M69 in Warwickshire closure expected to 'remain ongoing for several hours'

National Highways have said it's due to a serious collision which occurred shortly after 05:30 this morning (Monday 9 January 2026)

The M69 in Warwickshire is closed northbound between the M6 J2 / A46 near Coventry and J1 (A5 /Nuneaton) this morning (Monday 9 January 2026).

National Highways have said it's due to a serious collision which occurred shortly after 05:30.

As a result of the collision, a significant amount of central reservation barrier has been damaged.

Warwickshire emergency services are in attendance along with National Highways Traffic Officers who are assisting with traffic management.

Warwickshire Police say they will be conducting collision investigations and the closure is expected to remain ongoing for several hours throughout today.

Diversion Route

National Highways says road users are advised to follow the Solid Circle symbol on road signs.

  • At the A46/M6 J2, take the M6 southbound
  • Continue along the M6 southbound and exit at J1
  • Take the A426 northbound to the junction with the A5
  • Take the A5 northbound to the M69 J1

Drivers are being advised to allow extra journey time and plan ahead.
