Detectives at West Midlands Police say they're "urgently" looking for a man called Lee Martin who is wanted on suspicion of kidnapping, beating and stabbing a woman in Solihull last Sunday (5th September). Officers say the victim, who is known to him, managed to escape safely.

The search for the 41 year old has now intensified as police think he's behind a number of car-jackings in Birmingham. He's also accused of stealing a car, burglary, and ramming traffic officers to escape.

Superintendent Darren Walsh says police forces across the country know about Lee Martin but they think he's still hiding somewhere in the city.

On Wednesday 8th September, officers think he stole a black BMW from a woman in Kings Heath Park before it was later found on nearby Branscombe Close.

CCTV (below) from Asda, Barnes Hill, shows a man who police believe is Lee Martin stealing a woman’s grey Nissan Qashqai on Friday 10th September. She was held at knifepoint and attacked before her car was stolen. It's now been found. Four hours later, a house was broken into on Stonebrook Way in Harborne - officers believe, again, that Mr Martin was behind it.

Officers say they're still looking for the navy blue Corsa that was stolen from a woman who had dropped her daughter at university on Lionel Street in the city centre just before 7.45pm on Saturday 11th September.

Crimestoppers is offering a reward of up to £3,000 for any information on Lee Martin which leads to his arrest. People who see him are being urged not to approach him, but instead to call police on 999.
