Police officers in Coventry have arrested three people and seized more than £12,000-worth of class A drugs in raids over the weekend.

It's been described by West Midlands Police as "excellent work."

Officers in Far Gosford Street spotted a suspected drug deal shortly after 4.30pm yesterday (3 December).

Three people fled from the scene and officers were able to quickly track down and arrest a 28-year-old man.

Officers seized a large amount of wraps of suspected crack cocaine and heroin which had been thrown into a bin.

Following this, a search was carried out at an address in the city where another 28-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were arrested and more drugs were found.

The three people arrested remain in custody on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.
