People are being urged to avoid Draycote Water near Rugby after a man fell into the reservoir.

Searches are continuing after he came off his boat yesterday afternoon.

The site remains closed this morning (30 May).

In a statement last night, Gloucestershire Police said: "Draycote Water near Rugby is presently shut to the public as we work with our emergency services colleagues to search for a man who fell into the water from a boat this afternoon, 29 May.

"We would ask that the public do not attempt to go near the area at this time as doing so could distract searchers.

"The man’s family are currently being supported by specialist officers.

"We will issue updates in due course.

"Thank you all for your patience and understanding."
