Coventry woman charged after four firearms seized by police

A revolver, pistol and two sawn off shotguns were recovered

Four firearms have been seized by West Midlands Police from a property in Coventry - a woman charged with weapons offences.

Officers made checks at a home in Uxbridge Avenue on Friday evening (25th April) after acting on a public tip-off.

They recovered a revolver, pistol and two sawn off shotguns, as well as ammunition.

32 year old Katie Baxendale was arrested and has since been charged with five counts relating to possession of guns and ammunition.

She's appeared before Coventry Magistrates Court today (Monday 28th April) and remanded in custody.

Her next appearance is scheduled for 29th May.

The incident comes as West Midlands Police are in the midst of Operation Target - aiming to tackle a range of organised crime offences.
