A man has been jailed for five years and three months after he was caught carrying a gun in his trousers in Coventry in April.

36-year-old Levi Williams was searched by officers who found a revolver and live ammunition in the waistband of his trousers after he was caught breaching a closure order.

Police say the order was in place at the property on Heera Close due to concerns of anti-social behaviour, drug dealing and cuckooing.

Williams pleaded guilty to firearms possession and breaching the closure order.

Detective Chief Inspector Adam Jobson said: "This is a great result. Not only have we enforced the closure order, but have taken a live firearm off the streets.

"This sends out a strong message of how seriously we take this kind of crime.

"Firearms have no place on the street and we will track down and arrest anyone who thinks they should have one."
