West Midlands police have charged a man with the murder of a woman in Coventry.

On Wednesday evening the body of a woman - who Police strongly believe to be his 50-year-old partner Pauline Sweeney - was found at an address in Long Close Avenue.

She was discovered with serious stab wounds and sadly died a short time later.

William Brady was arrested and taken into custody for questioning.

The 57-year-old has now been charged with murder and appeared before Coventry Magistrates Court today. He was remanded to further appear before Warwick Crown Court on Monday (25 March).

Although formal identification is still to be carried out Police strongly believe the woman is Pauline and her family have been informed and are being supported.
