A man from Coventry's beginning a nine year prison sentence for falsely imprisoning two women.
Carl Swinburn (42) formerly from Lower Ford Street in the city was found guilty of stopping his victims leaving a house in Warwick in November 2021.
The women, one in her 30s and the other in her 40s, were verbally an physically attacked.
Warwickshire Police say objects including mobile phones were smashed as intimidation, with a pillow being put over one woman's face during the ordeal which lasted for almost a day.
The victims were able to raise the alarm and were rescued by officers.
When arrested over the incident a few weeks later Swinburn spat at police and attempted to go to the toilet in the police van.
He's been handed a nine year jail term after being found guilty of two counts of false imprisonment, one count of assault, three counts of criminal damage and one count of assaulting an emergency worker. He was also found guilty of a kidnap in Coventry in 2020.
Detective Constable Matthew Collins from Warwickshire Police CID said, "During this ordeal Swinburn subjected these women to the most sickening violence and abuse. Thankfully neither of them was seriously injured although the attack has certainly taken its toll on them mentally.
"I commend the victims for the courage they have shown in seeing this investigation through to the end. Swinburn is a violent bully who thought he could offend without consequence. He has never accepted any responsibility for his actions and I am glad to see him behind bars where he can cause no more harm."
