Coventry City have confirmed that their New Year's Day home game against Luton Town has been postponed due to Covid-19.

Luton informed the EFL yesterday afternoon that they will be unable to fulfil the fixture as scheduled on Saturday 1st January at the Coventry Building Society Arena due to an outbreak of COVID-19 amongst their squad and staff.

A Coventry City spokesperson said: "We share the disappointment and frustration of our supporters that another one of our fixtures has been postponed due to COVID cases in our opponents’ squads, following the postponement of our games against Stoke City and Cardiff City due to circumstances beyond our control.

"Our next game is Saturday 8th January when we host Derby County in the Emirates FA Cup – ticket details can be seen here.

"Details regarding the re-arranged fixture against Luton Town will be communicated in due course. Tickets purchased for the Luton game will be valid for the re-arranged fixture once this is confirmed.

"For any fans who are not able to attend a re-arranged fixture versus Luton, Coventry City are offering fans the opportunity to be able to transfer their ticket/hospitality purchase to another league game."
