Police find more than 70 cannabis plants in Coventry house
Search in Nunts Park Avenue after reports of suspicious behaviour
More than 70 cannabis plants have been discovered in a house in Coventry following reports of unusual activity.
Officers from the Coventry Local Policing Area conducted the search at a property on Nunts Park Avenue, alongside representatives from the National Grid.
Inside, they uncovered a substantial cannabis grow, with plants scattered throughout the house.
When the property was searched, no one was found inside.
Investigations to identify those involved are currently underway.
Cannabis farms often divert large amounts of electricity from the grid to power their operations, putting the property at risk of devastating fires as well as posing dangers to the lives of those nearby.
Police stated that cannabis farming leads to wider crime and disorder, creating disruption that can affect local areas.
This incident follows ongoing efforts to tackle drugs in the city of Coventry, with targeted police operations aiming to curb such activity.
