A four day walkout by bin lorry drivers in Coventry begins today (11 January).

It's over a dispute with the city council, on pay and working conditions.

Talks between the council and Unite Union collapsed last week.

The union then announced an extra 19 days of strike action, which would mean people's waste collections being affected until at least March.

The union have previously said drivers are not being paid a proper rate for the job, and that the council needs to do better.

But the council says industrial action isn't the best way to tackle the problem and remains committed to resolving the ongoing issues.

Six drop off sites are now open across the city for residents to drop off their waste.

There's been over 35,000 visits since the sites opened.
