Coventry City sign Winnie the therapy dog to help vulnerable people
The 5-year-old Cavapoo's signed a long-term deal with the club!
Coventry City and the Sky Blues in the Community have made a very furry, four-legged signing...Winnie the therapy dog!
The Cavapoo, whose 5 years old, has been recruited by the Community wellbeing manager, Johnny Szyndler to provide what the Sky Blues call 'therapeutic and emotional support' to vulnerable people who use the project.
Johnny Szyndler said: “I first saw therapy dogs being used when I visited Birmingham Children’s Hospital several years ago. To watch how much a dog lifted the moods of these young children who were going through very traumatic experiences made me realise how beneficial animal therapy can be.”
Coventry City say Winnie's been a huge success amongst not only participants - but staff and management, too.
Those that meet Winnie are being encouraged to give Winnie a big hello - as you'll get a furry cuddle in return!
