Coventry City fans divided by ticket price increase
The ticket pricing has been released for next season, seeing a rise in price for nearly 20% in some categories.
Some fans of Coventry City FC have criticised the club for raising its ticket prices for the 2025/26 season.
A new pricing structure was announced on Friday which also sees two new ticket categories added: a Premium Zone and Premium Zone Padded Seating options for matches.
A category A+ ticket will now cost £45, an 18% rise from last year's £38.
Fans took to social media to voice their disappointment at the rise in price, with one fan posting on X: "That's me not attending any games next season."
Simon Lillibury, who hosts That Cov Pod, says the new pricing will put pressure on the club to perform well next season.
"If you're setting the prices this high, you have to deliver on the pitch. If there's a case where we're lower-mid-table next season and people are being expected to fork out £45 to go and see us play a home game, I think that's when you're really gambling on what's going to happen on the pitch."
The ticket price for under 18s has also risen, with the cost of a category A+ ticket sitting at £35.
"The next generation of fans might not be able to commit to having a season ticket or go with their parent every single week, and it's really difficult now for a family to justify going to one of the bigger games of the season.
"It'll cost 50p per minute to watch Coventry against Birmingham."
"The best games at the CBS (Coventry Building Society Arena) have been when there's a sellout and the atmosphere's been brilliant. Are we now going to see fewer sellouts at the CBS for those sorts of games because people can't afford it or pick and choose certain games to go to?"
There is also concern that fans travelling to away matches will face similarly high ticket prices as a result of the increase.
Coventry City FC have encouraged fans wanting to buy tickets for individual matches to do so as soon as they go on sale to ensure availability and their preferred choice of seats.
The club has been contacted for comment.
