West Mercia police have discovered a cannabis grow when they attended a property on Deane Drive, Whittington around 5am Monday (24th June).

The fire service were already at the scene due to reports from a neighbour of a large leak coming from the occupant above.

They discovered 51 cannabis plants across two rooms.

No one was at the property and enquiries into the grow continue.

PC Gines of South Worcestershire Response Unit said: “Cannabis operations like to this are often linked to serious and organised crime. The drugs they sell have a negative impact on our communities and can lead to other localised criminality.

“Shutting down this cannabis grow has meant there has been a disruption to their operations.

“We encourage local communities to report on any signs of criminal activity.”
