Birmingham boy charged with attempted murder after Leamington attack

A boy from Birmingham has been charged in connection with an assault in Leamington on Sunday (14 January). The 16-year-old has been charged with attempted murder.

Officers were called to St Margaret’s Road at around 1.20pm following reports that a teenage boy was believed to have been attacked with a weapon. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Officers arrested the boy on Monday afternoon in Birmingham.

He has also been charged with wounding with intent, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, and two counts of conveying a threatening message.

He appeared at Coventry Magistrates’ Court yesterday, where he was remanded to appear at Warwick Crown Court on 30 January.
