Bird flu has been identified at a park in Warwickshire.

Ryton Pools Country Park are asking visitors to take precautions to protect wildlife and other park users.

The park has a range of bird species, and guidance has been issued to help reduce the risk of spreading the disease.

The park are asking visitors to do the following:

  • Stick to footpaths and keep dogs on leads
  • Avoid touching or picking up dead or sick birds
  • Don’t handle feathers or surfaces that may be contaminated by droppings
  • Wash your hands and disinfect footwear after your visit if you keep poultry or birds at home

Anyone who spots dead birds in the park is asked to report them using DEFRA's service online or by calling 03459 33 55 77.
