Teen 'hit over head with bike tyre' during attempted robbery in Nuneaton

Police are now appealing for information, CCTV or dash cam footage

An investigation's underway in Nuneaton following the attempted robbery of a teenage boy.

The incident happened yesterday evening on Greenmoor Road at around 8.00pm. Police say the suspect had engaged the victim – a teenage boy – in conversation before hitting him over the head with a bike tyre and attempting to steal his bike.

It's believed the suspect made off empty handed, and the victim was not badly hurt.

Description of the offender

Warwickshire Police say the offender is described as being white and aged 15-16, was wearing a full blue Nike tracksuit and white trainers, was carrying a bike tyre and was last seen heading in the direction of Henry Street.

Inspector Matt Craddock from the force said: “We have a detailed description of the suspect and we believe that someone will recognise him from this description. There will also have been quite a few people in the area at the time who may be able to help with our enquiries.
