Four men arrested after firearm incident in Warwick
Nobody was injured -- which police say was fortunate
Four men have been arrested in connection with a reported firearms incident in Warwick on Tuesday evening.
Armed officers responded to reports of a disturbance on Whitman way at 10:30pm.
Witnesses reported hearing a firearm being discharged.
Four men, all from Warwickshire, were arrested, all on suspicion of possession of a firearm.
The 20 year old from Warwick, was also arrested on suspicion of possession of class A drugs.
The 21-year-old, from Leamington was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and affray.
A suspected firearm, and cocaine were recovered at the scene.
Chief Inspector Faz Chishty, local policing commander for South Warwickshire, said: “This was a particularly concerning incident and not something we will tolerate in our communities.
“There will be an increased policing presence in the area over the next few days to provide reassurance to our communities and I urge anyone with any concerns or information to speak to an officer.”
Police are looking for information that could help with their enquiries.
