18 year-old arrested in Coventry on suspicion of attempted murder

It was during one of two incidents of disorder on Saturday

An investigation has been launched after two people were seriously injured in Coventry on Saturday.

Officers were called to Honeysuckle Drive at 4pm to reports of a stabbing.

A 19-year-old man was found with serious injuries. He was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

A second man self-presented at hospital with stab injuries. The 18-year-old also remains in hospital in a stable condition.

At around 7pm we were called to University Hospital on Clifford Bridge Road to reports of disorder.

An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. Two other men aged 19 and 20 were arrested on suspicion of affray and remain in police custody. They will also be questioned about the disorder on Honeysuckle Drive.

Detective Inspector Rachael Allen from the Major Crime Team, said: "We're urgently trying to establish what took place yesterday and why. If you witnessed the incident on Honeysuckle Drive or have any information, I would urge you to get in touch with us as soon as possible.

“There will be increased patrols in the area today to offer reassurance to the community.”
