Young woman sexually assaulted in Falmouth town centre

Police are investigating and say the 21-year-old is being supported

Police are investigating after a young woman was sexually assaulted in Falmouth town centre.

They say the 21-year-old was targeted on Church Street, in a car park behind a tattoo shop.

It happened in the early hours of Sunday morning (5th December).

The victim is being supported by specialist officers.

Anyone with information, or with CCTV in the area, is being asked to come forward.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: "Police are appealing for information following the sexual assault of a 21 year old female

"The incident happened between 1am and 1.25am on Sunday 05/12/21 on Church Street opposite Club International.

"The female victim was approached by an unknown male and subjected to a sexual assault in the car park at the rear of Ship to Shore Tattoo.

"The victim is being supported by family and a specially trained police officer

"Officers are appealing for witnesses or anybody with CCTV in this area to come forward.

"Enquiries are on-going."
