Biker, 19, suffers life-threatening injuries after crash in Camborne

The rider was airlifted to Derriford when he remains in a critical condition

Police have confirmed a young biker suffered life-threatening injuries after a serious crash in Camborne.

The 19-year-old rider was rushed to Derriford after his motorbike and a car collided on Kerrier Way.

The incident happened shortly before 8.30pm on Sunday 11th September, closing the road for over 10 hours.

Officers from the Roads Policing Team were called to the scene, along with ambulance crews and firefighters.

Anyone who saw what happened or who has relevant dashcam footage is being urged to call Devon & Cornwall Police.

Police Statement

"Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision in Camborne which left a motorcyclist with life-threatening injuries.

"Emergency services were called at 8.25pm on Sunday 11th September to a collision involving a Honda motorcycle and red Ford Fiesta on Kerrier Way.

"The motorcyclist, a 19-year-old man from Camborne, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

"Officers from the Roads Policing Team attended alongside fire and ambulance crews.

"The road was closed for more than 10 hours while the scene was examined by a specialist forensic collision investigator and the vehicles were recovered.

"Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision and asking motorists with relevant dashcam footage to contact them. Please telephone 101, quoting log number 941 of 11/09/22".
