Woman taken to hospital after falling into stream near Porthcurno

Falmouth Coastguard was called into help the fire and rescue service

A woman has been taken to hospital after falling from an embankment into a stream near Porthcurno.

Officers from Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service were called to the area on Monday (June 2nd) to attend to the woman, who had reportedly fallen 8ft down from the precipice.

Engines from Penzance and Tolvaddon were called to deal the incident, after she had fallen into the water.

Falmouth Coastguard was also reported to the incident, as well as the local branch of the South West Ambulance Service.

Firefighters were brought into the water and helped the woman out of the incident and gave her to the ambulance who brought her to hospital; her condition remains unknown.

In total, the crew took ninety minutes to rescue the woman, after first being alerted to the incident at 1:11pm.
