Woman airlifted to hospital with life-changing injury after crash in Bodmin

Police have issued an appeal after three vehicles collided on Beacon Road on Tuesday morning

Police have confirmed a woman has suffered a life-changing leg injury after a serious crash in Bodmin.

The casualty in her 50s was airlifted to Derriford after three vehicles collided on Beacon Road.

The incident happened at around 8.15am on Tuesday 12th October.

Officers say the road was closed for around five hours while investigation work took place.

Any local residents with CCTV are being asked to contact police.

Devon & Cornwall Police said: "Police, paramedics and the fire service were called at around 8.15am this morning Tuesday 12th October following reports of a serious collision in Beacon Road, Bodmin.

"Three vehicles were involved; an Audi A3, Volkswagen, and Mercedes van.

"A local woman aged in her 50s sustained a serious, life-changing leg injury and was taken to Derriford Hospital by air ambulance.

"The road was closed for around five hours while investigation work took place. Police would like to thank the local community for its help and co-operation.

"Anyone who witnessed the collision who has not already provided details to police is asked to come forward.

"Beacon Road residents with CCTV overlooking the street have also been asked to get in touch.
