Woman dies in three-vehicle crash on A30

The road was closed overnight

Police are appealing for information following a fatal crash on the A30.

They were called to the scene at Loggans, near Hayle, at around 7.25pm last night (Thursday 27 July).

The collision involved a Renault Clio, Renault Twingo and a Hyundai i20.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "The driver of the Clio is a man in his 20s from the Falmouth area; he sustained serious injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital.

"The driver of the Twingo is a woman in her thirties from the Penzance area, and despite the best efforts of responders, was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed.

"The two occupants of the Hyundai sustained minor injuries.

"The road was closed overnight whilst an investigation was carried out at the scene. The scene is now clear, and the road reopened at around 7.15am today, Friday 28 July.

"Officers from the Roads Policing Team would like to thank the public for their patience whilst the road was closed."

Police are asking anyone with any relevant information or dash-cam footage which may assist the investigation is asked to contact police via their website or by calling 101 quoting log 862 27 July.
