South West Water says supplies are returning to normal after a burst water main left many homes in Cornwall without water earlier.

The company has apologised for the problem, which has affected homes in the TR1 to TR16 postcode areas.

It says, "Our emergency team have been on site, working hard to isolate the burst water main and restore customer supplies.

"Some customers may continue to experience fluctuations to the supply whilst the water pressure returns and builds up in the network."

Earlier, we spoke to Jack - who's currently staying on a campsite near Truro.

He told us with no running water, it means that they have no access to showers or toilet facilities:

"It makes us feel a bit dirty and unclean because we're unable to sort ourselves out and we're ultimately looking at other options of what we can for emergency solutions - can we find a public toilet somewhere? Not ideal at all."

Threemilestone School has also been closed all day due to no water.
