Homes in the Truro area and some surrounding villages were left without water following a burst mains.
It happened in the Marazanvose and Zelah area on Friday morning (8th October) with TR1 and TR4 postcodes affected, with either low pressure or no water at all.
It also triggered flooding on the nearby A30 with reports of queuing traffic in the area.
South West Water says the damage was caused by a third party and apologised for the inconvenience.
The repair works took several hours but bosses have now confirmed that they have been completed and all houses should have their water supply again.
At the time, a South West Water spokesperson said: “A third party has caused damage to one of our water mains in Marazanvose near Truro, causing a water burst.
“Our teams reacted quickly to get there and isolate the burst by around 12pm. The damage is extensive and has caused flooding on the A30.
“Our priority is to fix this for our customers and the community and we will use water tankers to supply water back into the network for our customers.
"With this extensive damage we expect the repairs will take several hours and we will update our website and social media with our progress.
“We want to thank customers for their patience and our teams who are working hard to fix this unforeseen problem caused by a third party, and would like to take this opportunity to remind anyone that is undertaking excavation works to check for the presence of underground utilities before carrying out any work."
Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene where two properties and the A30 were flooded.
A spokesperson for Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said: "We are currently dealing with a flooding incident caused by a ruptured water main near the A30 at Maraznavose. It is affecting 2 nearby properties, hydrants and supply in the area.
"Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service have 2 appliances on scene and a Flexi Duty Officer who are using a light portable pump and a major pump to divert the water.
"Southwest Water and the Police are also in attendance."
Inrix Traffic and Travel also reported that that the A30 was partially blocked in both directions while the issue was being dealt with.
They said at the time: "A30 in both directions partially blocked, queueing traffic due to burst water main near the Zelah turn off. Approach with care. Travel time is around 15 minutes."
Traffic has now cleared and the road is back to normal.
