There's a warning to stay away from Whipsiderry Cliffs.

A large cliff fall happened in Newquay at around 1.30pm today (Wednesday 29 November).

The footpath and steps to the beach have been closed for safety.

Campaign group Save Whipsiderry Cliffs have posted a picture on Instagram warning it's highly unstable, and more could come down.

In a post on social media, a spokesperson from Cornwall Council said: "Following a large cliff fall on Whipsiderry Beach in Newquay we are closing the steps and surrounding footpath.

"‼️ Please stay away for your own safety.

"With the steps closed, there is a risk of getting cut off by the tide if walking along the beach from Porth to Watergate."

Campaigners have previously called for development works, planned for Whipsiderry Beach, to be permanently suspended.
