A yellow weather warning for strong winds has been issued for Cornwall and Devon for the end of the bank holiday weekend.
The Met Office says gusts of up to 65mph could hit the coasts and hills, along with heavy rain.
The alert will be in force from 12pm on Monday 3rd May until 9am on Tuesday 4th May.
Forecasters say travel disruption, damage to outdoor temporary structures and large waves are likely.
What can we expect?
The Met Office says: "A spell of disruptive winds is likely from Monday afternoon and into Tuesday morning". We can expect:
- Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely
- Probably some bus and train services affected, with some journeys taking longer
- Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely
- Damage to outdoor temporary structures possible, with some tree branches down too
- It’s likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities will be affected by spray and/or large waves
"A vigorous area of low pressure is likely to cross northern England on Monday. Strong winds are expected to the south of the low centre, affecting Wales and western England during Monday afternoon, then extending to central, southern and eastern England later Monday afternoon and evening.
"Gusts are likely to widely reach 40 to 50mph inland, and as high as 60-65mph around some coasts of southern England and south Wales.
"The winds should gradually ease through Tuesday morning.
"The strong winds will be accompanied by some heavy rain at times".
