Police are urging walkers to avoid the area after a fatal incident near Falmouth.

Officers, paramedics, coastguard crews and the RNLI were all called to the scene in Flushing at 5.45pm on Saturday evening.

It was amid reports that a tree had fallen and a man on a boat in Sailors Creek had been injured.

The man in his 50s was brought to shore where he was seen by paramedics but sadly he could not be saved, and died at the scene.

Officials say the death is being treated as accidental and the man's family has been told.

"Police are requesting that locals avoid the area, particularly for walking."

They added: "At this time the death is not being treated as suspicious, but as an accidental death.

"We are carrying out enquiries today and in due course a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
