A dog from Cornwall who was dubbed the unluckiest in Britain last year has celebrated his first year at his forever home.

Dillon was taken in by the National Animal Welfare Trust in Hayle, after being found lying with his owner who had died.

After a couple of rehomings didn't work out, he finally found a new family a year ago.

The charity says, "Dillon’s new owners are over the moon with how well he has settled in to their lives, he is an incredibly funny character and as well as food, his new favourite thing in the world has been… shoes!

"And his new family frequently find their shoes hidden around the house by this hilarious character.

"We love seeing happy endings like this."
