Two released without charge after Newquay hotel protests

It follows protests and counter-protests outside a hotel housing asylum seekers

Two people arrested after protestors and counter protestors gathered at a hotel in Newquay at the weekend have been released without charge.

A man his twenties, and another in his forties, both from Bristol were arrested on suspicion of assault, but no further action's being taken.

The protests happened on Sunday 26th March, and followed a similar protest in February.

Around 50 protestors and 150 counter protestors attended, according to Devon and Cornwall Police with the majority 'acting peacefully'.
