Officials figures show the number of coronavirus cases in Cornwall increased by 553 in the last 24 hours - and two more deaths were recorded.
A total of 91,553 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 in Cornwall when the UK coronavirus daily dashboard was updated on January 11 (Tuesday), up from 91,000 on Monday.
Latest weekly figures show Cornwall recorded 6,319 new cases in the seven days to Thursday 7th January, giving the Duchy a case rate of 1,098.0 per 100,000 people.
However the figure is far higher in some areas, including St Ives, Camborne, Newquay and Liskeard at over 1,200, parts of Penzance and Helston at over 1,300, Launceston and parts of Saltash at over 1,400 and Torpoint, where the case rate is currently almost 2,000 per 100,000 people.
Changes to testing rules mean that from January 11, people in England with a positive lateral flow test need to report their result and self-isolate, but do not need to get a PCR to confirm the result.
Cases identified through a rapid lateral flow test are currently only included in case counts for England and Northern Ireland.
Hospitals in the Duchy were treating 42 patients with coronavirus on Tuesday 11 January, up six on the same time last week.
There were also two more coronavirus deaths recorded in the latest 24-hour period in Cornwall.
The dashboard shows 638 people had died in the area by Tuesday – up from 636 on Monday.
It means there have been four deaths in the past week, which is a decrease on five the previous week.
They were among 8,416 deaths recorded across the South West.
The figures include anyone who died within 28 days of a positive test result for Covid-19, and whose usual residence was in Cornwall.
Daily death counts are revised each day, with each case backdated to the actual date of death.
The figures also show that four in five people in Cornwall have received two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine.
The latest figures show 430,808 people had received both jabs by January 10 (Monday) – 81% of those aged 12 and over, based on the number of people on the National Immunisation Management Service database.
Across England, 83% of people aged 12 and above had received a second dose of the jab.
Unlike at local level, the national rate was calculated using mid-2020 population estimates from the Office for National Statistics.
