Two more deaths and over 1,000 new cases of Covid recorded in Cornwall
The latest figures show almost 46,000 people in the Duchy have tested positive since the pandemic began

The number of coronavirus cases in Cornwall increased by 1,085 over the weekend, official figures show – and two more deaths were recorded.
A total of 45,999 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 in Cornwall when the UK coronavirus daily dashboard was updated on October 4 (Monday), up from 44,914 on Friday.
Latest weekly figures show the Duchy recorded 2,405 new cases in the seven days to last Friday, giving us a case rate of 417.9 per 100,000 people. That is a rise on figures published this time last week, when the case rate was 316.4.
Cornwall is now no longer a designated 'Enhanced Response Area', following a substantial drop in cases after those summer spikes.
However, Cornwall Council's Public Health Team has warned people that Covid has not gone away and residents and visitors are being urged to remain vigilant.
There were also two more coronavirus deaths recorded over the weekend in Cornwall.
The dashboard shows 536 people had died in the area by October 4 (Monday) – up from 534 on Friday.
It means there have been seven deaths in the past week, which is an increase on three the previous week.
They were among 7,373 deaths recorded across the South West.
The figures include anyone who died within 28 days of a positive test result for Covid-19, and whose usual residence was in Cornwall.
A delay from one data source has resulted in a "small impact" on the national total number of deaths reported today, according to a notice on the coronavirus dashboard.
It added any additional deaths will be included in tomorrow's update.
Daily death counts are revised each day, with each case backdated to the actual date of death.
Figures reported on a Monday are likely to be lower as a result of a lag in reporting deaths over the weekend.
Vaccination uptake for the UK has been suspended to allow developers to work on a solution to include 12 to 15-year-olds.
