Crews called to two fires in Cornwall overnight
Police also attended the incidents in Wadebridge and Tuckingmill
Police and fire crews were called to two fires across Cornwall last night (Saturday 23 April).
The first was at a derelict piggery on Polmorla Road, Wadebridge. Teams found the building "well alight" after arriving on the scene at 7.03pm yesterday evening.
A statement on Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service's website said: "Crews from Wadebridge and Padstow responded to this incident.
"On arrival a derelict piggery was found to be well alight and a 'make pumps 3' request was made by the incident commander. A further appliance from Bodmin was mobilised.
"Crews used breathing apparatus and hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.
"Devon and Cornwall Police also attended."
The second fire was at a property on Pendarves Street, Tuckingmill, Camborne - which teams were called to at 10.19pm.
On arrival, they confirmed that smoke was coming from the building, with reports of people inside.
A statement from the county's fire service said: "One pump from Tolvaddon and one from Falmouth responded to this incident.
"On arrival the incident commander confirmed smoke issuing from the building and persons reported. A further appliance from Perranporth was mobilised.
"Crews were faced with a fire in a ground floor extension. It was extinguished using breathing apparatus and hose reel jets. All persons were accounted for.
"Devon and Cornwall Police attended. A fire investigation will take place in the morning."
